About Me

I'm a condensed matter physicist by training and a quantum infrastructure manager by day. I did my Ph.D. at Boston College under Ken Burch, working on 2D materials, topological superconductivity, and van der Waals heterostructures; basically, building tiny things out of atomically thin crystals and seeing what structure emerges.

These days I manage facilities, IT, safety, and logistics at the AWS Center for Quantum Computing. It's less glamorous than personally leading cutting edge science experiments, but infrastructure has been rewarding it its own way. I still miss being at the bench though, which is why my home lab keeps growing.

Outside of work I'm a suburban dad with two kids, two dogs, and two cats; we're outnumbered and loving it. I build mechanical keyboards, tinker with wood working, find new and interesting ways to brew premium coffee, and am slowly getting better at software (Python, some JS, enough to be dangerous). I devour sci-fi and epic fantasy novels, and I will absolutely watch construction YouTube at 11 PM instead of sleeping.

This site is my corner of the internet to document projects, share my professional work, and occasionally write about whatever I'm building or breaking that week.
